The Vibrant Colours of Autumn

By In Sadie May blog On October 14, 2014

We love the changing seasons, and the autumn leaf colours of red, purple, orange, yellow and brown which have developed in the landscape over the past few weeks are beautiful. This is one of our favourite times of the year, you can’t beat a crisp sunny morning walk to admire the trees and shrubs that make our landscape such a rich environment.

Bring some autumn colour into your garden by planting shrubs or trees which are chosen for their leaf colour or berries.  If you have a large garden plant Amalanchier lamarckii, Liquidambar styraciflua or Sorbus ‘Joseph Rock’. If you have a small garden you can still introduce autumn colour just try perennial plants like Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’, Aster frickartii ‘Monch’ or Gillenia trifoliata, these will give wonderful flower or leaf colour.
