We will come and meet you on site; at this stage we want to get a feel for the location of your home and garden, discuss your ideas and your budget and generally find out how you would like your garden to work for you. Perhaps you like outdoor dining, you want a space to grow vegetables or your priority is somewhere for the kids to play whilst retaining seasonal herbaceous borders, or have a countryside property where you would like a cottage garden designed . Whatever your requirements we will work with your ideas in the design. Following the consultation we will provide a design quote for undertaking the survey and design phase.
Upon acceptance of the design quote we will undertake a site survey, which means visiting the plot to take detailed measurements. This allows us to create an accurate base to draw up the new plans for your garden.
At this stage we will present you with colour drawings of the concept for your outdoor space. We can do this in person or via email. The concept drawings will include a hand drawn scale plan (computer drawings can be provided if necessary) and a 3D illustration of the design idea. We also provide a photographic mood board that shows a montage of photos, including potential materials or features that could be integrated within the design.
This meeting is an opportunity for us to answer any questions or queries about the concept, discuss any changes required, and ensure everyone is in agreement before drawing up the final masterplan. This meeting takes place at the initial concept stage, when the concept plans are first presented.
The masterplan stage provides you with the final 2D scale drawing of your garden accompanied by a 3D illustrative sketch and mood boards printed on high quality paper.
At this stage, Sadie May Studios will provide a comprehensive quotation for our experienced landscape team to undertake the build of your new garden. Upon accepting the quote for the build of your garden our landscape team will follow our technical drawings to develop your dream garden. During this stage we will project manage to ensure the garden is built to the correct specification.
Soft Landscaping (Planting)
Sadie May Studios will also provide a quote for the soft landscaping (planting) of your garden, which is undertaken by our in-house horticultural experts. This includes a detailed plant list, sourcing the plants from our specialist nursery contacts and final planting in the beds, finishing with a high quality mulch. When this quote is accepted we will arrange a meeting to present a photographic document of the potential plant choices for the garden.
Planting List and Maintenance Notes
When your garden is built we provide an illustrative photographic document listing all of the plants in your garden with their associated names. Where required we will provide maintenance notes to assist you with caring for your new garden.
