Sadie May Stowell
adie May Stowell (BA honors PGDipLA) is an experienced and award winning Garden Designer and Landscape Architect with a flair for imaginative and creative design and a passion for spectacular plant combinations.
Originally trained in Fine Art, Sadie studied Garden Design at Pershore College of Horticulture, she subsequently qualified to post-graduate level Landscape Architecture at the University Of Gloucestershire.
In 2005, Sadie was the overall winner of the Channel 4 national garden design competition ‘The Great Garden Challenge’ an achievement which brought both local and national acclaim.
More recently Sadie has appeared on both national in international television, featuring in the UK, Australia, South Korea and the USA.
Sadie is regularly invited to appear as a garden design expert on local radio, she also gives guest lectures to students at The University Of Gloucestershire and has appeared as a guest speaker at several Royal Horticultural Society conferences.
As a result of her success, Sadie has received both local and national press coverage.
Sadie’s flair for creativity combined with an extensive knowledge of horticulture is a winning combination for Garden Design. Sadie creates inspired spaces where her rich tapestries of planting shine. Four medal-winning gardens (between 2008-2012) at ‘The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show’ showcased her artistic style of design, attracting considerable media and public attention. In 2014 Sadie May Studio’s make their debut with ‘Viking Cruises Norse Garden’ at Chelsea Flower Show.
Sadie’s design ethos combines sensitivity to the environment with an understanding of how to make spaces work for the people who will use them. The results are always beautiful, inspired and functional. She creates gardens to be enjoyed.
ay Dawson (BA honors PGDipLA) is a Landscape Architect and Garden Designer with a flair for creating naturalistic and original designs. With 8 years’ experience as a professional Landscape Architect Jay’s specialism is in his technical excellence, he combines an acute spatial awareness with a passion for the environment.
Previously Jay worked within a large Multi-disciplinary Landscape Architecture practice, leading/working on numerous projects throughout the UK and abroad, including solar farms, highway and housing schemes, industrial, commercial and retail sites through to smaller residential garden schemes.
Jay manages the Landscape Architecture aspect of Sadie May Studios, bringing his skills and experience to the growing company. Often occupied at the technical end of the company, Jay is fastidious about detail and leads the majority of large-scale schemes and computer generated projects for the practice.
Sustainability and original thinking are key components in any projects he delivers, with groundbreaking and inspiring results. Alongside Sadie, Jay has worked on three award-winning show gardens at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show including the 2012 'The Swiss Show Garden', winning an RHS Silver-Gilt award.
Jay finds inspiration from art, nature, sustainable thinking and the environment. Jay is a keen photographer and loves to be outdoors in any weather. When he is not working he is often hiking, camping, rock climbing, tending to the garden or walking his dog Brian.
